Learning to wash your hands is a basic thing that we learn since we’re potty trained. And yet, a vast majority of people are too lazy to wash their hands properly, or even at all. You would think that after Covid people would take washing their hands a bit more seriously, but nope.
However, if you are about to have sex with someone, it is super important that their hands are clean, before they start to play with your clit. This is because, if their hands are dirty you could end up with a nasty UTI (if you think you have a UTI go speak to a doctor or nurse).
It might sound like a bit of a mood killer to tell the person, ‘hey let’s go wash our hands’. But, your vulva will be thanking you later. I’d recommend keeping hand sanitiser, or baby wipes in the draw next to your bed. If the person has an issue with you wanting to make sure hands are clean, then they probably aren’t the right person for you because that’s someone that isn’t taking your sexual health seriously.
Make sure that you and your partner have a conversation about hygiene, UTI’s and that you are both properly washing your genitals. If you aren’t sure how to properly wash your genitals, then take a look at some of our other articles on genital hygiene!
