Finding the right bra to fit you is easier said than done! Our breasts sizes can change a lot especially as teens and young adults. The fact is, most of us are wearing the wrong fit for our breasts. You may be thinking, well what's the big deal? But, wearing a bra that does not fit properly can lead to back, shoulder and neck pain. It can also ruin your outfit. So, it is super important that you make sure your bra's fit you correctly!
Some of us may go to bra fittings with our parents when we are younger, but may not be doing this consistently or when we get older. You should try to measure your breasts every year, as age, hormonal, weight changes and pregnancy can influence and change the size of your breasts.
Here's how to measure your bra size (have a tape measure at hand):
Measure the band
- Put the measuring tape around your ribcage, underneath the band of your bra.
- Pull the tape tight, but not to the point that it is uncomfortable.
- Write down the measurement in inches.
- If it is an even number that is the band size.
If it is an uneven number, round it up.
Measure the cup size
- Put the measuring tape around the fullest part of your bust.
- Have the tape sit flat, and level.
Write down the inches, that is your cup size.
Calculate the cup size
- Minus your band size from the cup size.
- Take your band size and your cup and put them together to get your bra size.
- For example 37 inches (bust) - 34 (band) = 3 inches. That means you are 34 C.
