Our mission is to improve sex education, and reduce sexual violence through a sustainble social media plaform.

30 words:

Freyja is a sustainable and safe social media platform, offering a home to sex educators, charites, companies and sex workers who are curerntly discriminated against on other social media platforms.

63 words:

Freyja is initiating a new era for social media platforms. Freyja offers a voice to a marginalized group of creators. Such as educators, sex workers and charities who are censored on mainstream social media. Freyja acknowledges this overlap of education and adult entertainment and addresses this by offering a safe environment where people can find what they are looking for: education or entertainment.

188 words:

Freyja is a sustainable and safe social media platform. Currently, Educators, charities, and brands, who offer important sex education and awareness, don’t have a platform to promote their cause. Mainstream social media censor any mention of sensitive topics, such as sex, and ban creators without warning. As a result, the human right of sexual education is being denied, which is particularly problematic when women’s sexual rights are being stripped away repeatedly.

Charities that focus on reducing revenge porn and image-based sexual abuse find themselves censored or banned for talking about their work. Companies focused on sexual health testing, period products, sex therapy and contraception also find themselves banned or censored. Educators try to improve education and find themselves censored for naming a body part. Sex workers face the worst discrimination as they are instantly deleted, even when they haven’t posted anything more explict than a bikini photo, whereas a celebrity might post something actually pornographic or link directly to an adult site and not face the same censorship or ban.

Access to social media and sex education is a human right, we offer a safe place for all.

Freyja’s new social media platform reduce sexual violence and improves sex education. Freyja gives a voice to a suppressed group of creators, including sex-educators, charities, brands and adult performers. Freyja acknowledges this overlap of education and adult entertainment and addresses this by offering a safe environment where people can find what they are looking for: education or entertainment. Freyja is a social media platform which does not censor nor discriminate. It’s a platform where individuals, charities, and brands can post about sex education, their products, and their charity work. Creators can monetize their content with a range of payment options or post content for free, like on any other social media platform.

Freyja’s revolutionary approach to safety and moderation is based on extensive moderation and inclusive guidelines, which have been created with all major stakeholders: charities, brands, educators, and performers. Other platforms only moderate content that is being reported. With only 11% of users actively reporting content, that leaves plenty of bad content online. Freyja, on the other hand, not only moderates all content before it can be published on the platform, but also verifies every single performer with a form of ID. This allows Freyja to identify all performers shown in any adult content and thereby prevent any unconsensual or under-age content from being uploaded. This prevents image-based sexual abuse, child abuse, and other human rights issues, which are prevalent on other platforms.

Quotes from our co-founder Maria Allgaier:

‘I’ve previously run several campagins against sexual assault in rowing, and I was a US delegate focusing on reducing violence against women. It’s a topic I have always been passionate about.’

‘Nowadays, social media is essential to our jobs, education, news and personal life, and it is unjust that many companies, charities and individuals are being unfairly discriminated against for wanting to help combat human rights issues and talk about sex education. A platform like FREYJA provides a safe place for individuals and also help to improve sex education. Sex education is a human right which currently most of us are being denied.’

‘We started Freyja wanting to solve issues with sexual violence and to improve sexual education. However, it quickly became about even more. On a daily basis, we are dealing with and combating major human rights issues such as revenge porn, homophobia, transphobia, child abuse, monopolization, battling taboos, and destigmatizing sex work. Freyja is much more than just a company, we are a social movement fighting for great change.’
