What is stigmatophilia?

It is a sexual fetish in which people find piercings and tattoos attractive. This term can be used for people who are turned on by their own piercings/tattoos or (and as well as) another person's piercings/tattoos.

They like to look at, feel and touch the skin where the piercing and tattoo is. Basically it means that one is more attracted and more aroused to another person with piercings and tattoos. Indeed, stigmatophilia is a type of fetish, similar to the arousal that you might get from lingerie or feet. But stigmatophilia is a lot more than just being attracted to someone, it's about the arousal that depends on the object, and it enhances the sexual experience. One can in particular be attracted to piercings or tattoos in the erogenous zones. Some people can even find the piercing or tattoo process arousing due to the feeling of being penetrated with a needle.

If you think that you get turned on by the idea of genital and nipple piercings, and might want to try it, first take some time to think about it before proceeding. Do your research before getting any piercing, and make sure that you know all the safety and health precautions to take. An important thing to also consider is the healing time of the piercing. For example, a belly button piercing can take up to 9 months to heal, so it's quite the commitment! So, you'll want to make sure that you are up for that. Try not to pierce anything yourself, for safety and health reasons always go to a professional.
